Happy Thanksgiving from your Sr. CA's

If you've been reading this blog for some time, you may have noticed the change of writers from Sam and Rachel to Lia and Hillary and wondered who are theses people? Sam so lovely introduced our new Career Assistants during our training week, but we have yet to introduce ourselves and our sidekick Mike. So who are we?

We are your 2011-2012 Sr. Career Assistants! Mike, Lia and Hillary
Hi Friends! I'm Hillary, a 4th year student majoring in Child and Youth Studies with a minor in Sociology. Always wearing a smile and willing to help out whenever needed. You may see me in the pool swimming lengths as there's an inner fish in me, or racing down the ski hill in the winter. I am also a little obsessed with country music and The Toronto Maple Leafs. I'm passionate about children, love sharing stories and providing outreach to those in need. My area of specialization within Career Services is Entrance Exams, and Post-Grad Program, with a strong interests in preparation for interviews and workplace etiquette.

Hey there! My name is Lia and I'm a third year Child and Youth Studies major working towards a minor in Applied Linguistics (possibly). I'm a little quiet and reserved sometimes but at heart I'm a goofball who loves to laugh. I enjoy volunteering and spending my time working with children with a variety of needs; in the future I hope to become a Speech-Language Pathologist or an Occupational Therapist. Here at Career Services I specialize in International Affairs & Working Abroad resources, with a passion in researching graduate programs and degree options.

Hey guys! I'm Mike, in my 4th year of history and hope to join the O.P.P. within the next year. I am preparing my portfolio and resume to reflect the skills and personal qualities that the O.P.P. is looking for. I enjoy being around people, listening to DJs and this summer had an amazing time at Lollapalooza in Chicago this year where I saw Afrojack, Deadmau5, Skrillex, Eminem... needless to say, it was an amazing weekend! My area of specialization is Trends Analysts and Resume Review Stats, with an interest in portfolio and resume development.
We would love to meet you all individually so please stop by and say hi. If you have any questions we too would love to help you out. Until then, we wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving. Enjoy your long weekend, safe travels, and see you on Tuesday when our Resource Centre re-opens.

Happy Thanksgiving! Gobble Gobble
Lia, Mike and Hillary
