Grad Send-Off 2021

Brock’s yearly Grad Send-Off is back on February 9, 2021! The event is open to all third and fourth-year students who are in their final year of study and are looking for employment after graduation. This event will be held remotely from 12:00-4:00 pm on the Hopin platform. There will be a two-part registration process before the event takes place. First registration can be found on CareerZone’s events calendar under the Campus Career tab. Once you have registered through CareerZone, there is a second registration requirement on Hopin where you are to use your Brock email to register.

Grad Send-Off will open with a welcome from the Brock University Alumni Association and Brocks President Gervan Fearon. Following this, there will be a keynote address from John Faber. Faber is the President and CEO of Pason Systems and will be talking about the leadership mindset that can be applied to any field.

Once concluded, a Vendor and Career Expo will take place. Students will have the opportunity to engage with over 30 employers and affinity partners that will be attending the event. The full listing of these employers is listed on the CareerZone events calendar.

While the expo is occurring, between 1-3:45 pm there will be an opportunity for one-on-one networking. At random, you will be matched with an employer or affinity partner to practice your networking skills and get connected to others

Two breakout sessions are going to be hosted by Brock Alumni Robert A. Dougan. Dougan is a Talent Strategist and a member on the Board of Advisors for WorkWolf. During these sessions, students will have the opportunity to learn how to leverage their natural strengths to better understand their personality with the PackFinder Assessment. Dougan is offering two one-hour sessions from 1-2 pm and 3-4 pm.

To prepare for the Grad Send-Off, we recommend that students review and research the participating employers that will be attending the event. Again, the full listing of these employers is listed on CareerZone’s events calendar. By reviewing the job postings in advance, you can prepare a few questions to ask when you meet employers in their virtual boothThis will also help you with networking and narrowing down which employers you want to speak with at the event. Remember to dress for success by looking professional and get familiar with your technology beforehand so that everything runs smoothly.

12:00-12:30 - Welcome and Keynote Address

12:30-4:00 - Vendor and Career Expo
